...In the Midst of Rain...
๏ Rain drizzles softly, scattering drops of dreams,
upon another morning beneath a cloudy sky.
Along the roads, countless people journey on,
travelers in the rain, travelers on their way.
๏ While local people follow their daily ways,
strangers move onward toward destinations ahead.
Travel, devotion, undiminished in the heart,
seeking rest, seeking meaning, guided by faith.
๏ Different genders, different ages, different souls,
each seeking a place of their own.
Each one arrives, each one departs,
yet all are strangers all the same.
๏ Rain drizzles on, scattering its mist,
while timid sunlight lingers like a waiting dream.
From morning rain through noon and midday,
through afternoon and evening, until night descends.
๏ Travelers come and go from distant places,
while locals meet their gaze as friends, not strangers.
One side's eyes fill softly with tears,
while the other reaches out to wipe them away.
๏ Night falls beneath a dim and clouded sky,
fine droplets drift and touch the face.
Raindrops fall, then linger behind,
leaving faith behind, as if asking.
๏ We still live beneath the same sky, do we not ?
From night until dawn, who among us is lost ?
The rain falls softly within the heart,
its drifting mist reflecting the heart.
๏ Rain continues through the endless night,
dreams awaken suddenly, trembling into tears.
I ask those standing in the rain, near and far,
Do we still care for one another? Do we still ?
I ask those standing in the rain, near and far,
Are we still beneath the same sky? Are we still ?
